Karachi: Under Prof.Dr Navid Rashid Qureshi's prestigious leadership, the Department of Health Professions Education (DHPE) introduced a short course on Research Methodology. The course aimed to promote evidence-based dentistry and equipped faculty with the knowledge of research.
The course spanned for two-months that would conclude with all participants' synopsis presentation to the college Institutional Review Board (IRB). A small group was selected on a first-come basis for effective learning. Prof. Dr Athar Majeed Khan, Prof. Dr Tahera Ayub were the main facilitators followed by Dr Hiba Hamid and Dr Beenish Shah.
Recently, alumni of LCMD were also invited to talk about the available national and international post-graduation options through 'Career Counselling' sessions. So far, three seminars have been arranged, and the feedback from participants was overwhelming.
Meanwhile, a series of webinars were also arranged to address faculty concerns regarding COVID-19 and safely practice dentistry.
