‘Pain Control in Dentistry’ symposium, UCD

An informative symposium was held at the University College of Dentistry on “Pain Control in Dentistry” in collaboration with ICI, Pakistan.

Dean University College of Dentistry and Professor of Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Moghees Ahmed Baig was invited as the keynote speaker; he highlighted the “current trends and comprehensive protocol of managing pain in dental patients”, starting from pre-operative to intra- operative and post-operative stages of treatment.

Various aspects of pain, starting from somatic to physiological and emotional domains were discussed and adjunct therapeutic measures, in addition to analgesics were discussed.

This comprehensive seminar was attended by house surgeons, faculty members and general dental practitioners from Lahore.

Commenting on the occasion Dr. Khalid Manzoor, a renowned endodontist, emphasized that a dentist must have the skills and knowledge to relieve the patient from pain and consider it as their primary goal.

Participants appreciated this clinical activity and urged the need for more sessions like this in future.
