Pakistani cricketer contracts Hep C at a dental clinic

Shadab Khan, a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the national team tested positive for Hepatitis C, prior to his departure for England for an ODI series. The team's blood samples were sent to the lab for routine tests, after which Shadab received the unfortunate news.

According to sources close to Shadab, the cricketer contracted the Hepatitis C virus after a dentist in Rawalpindi used contaminated instruments on him. He had visited the dentist with a toothache complaint.

The illness has ruled him out of the England ODI, and has put a big question mark on his participation in the upcoming ICC worldcup.

More tests will be performed in the coming week.
