HYDERABAD - Since its inception, the Pak Dental Community (PDC) has been serving as a platform for the dentists of Pakistan as well as outside Pakistan, to interact and work in collaboration, promoting different aspects of dentistry and guiding the young dentists towards a better professional career for the uplift of the profession. Continuing with the aim of providing guidance from the experienced professionals, PDC successfully organized a free educational seminar on FCPS, MDS, FFD RCSI, ORE, NBDE and ADC; as a continuum of its - "Ace the Exam" Series, conducted by Dr. Salman Iqbal, Dr. Faizan Syed, Dr. S Ghazanfar,Dr. Saima Butt, Dr. Hamza Masood and Dr. Shaji Ahmed Memon,at the prestigious Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro and Isra University Hyderabad. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Ghazanfar in the esteemed presence of Pro Vice Chancellor -Dr. Muneer Ahmed Junejo, Dentistry Dean LUMHS -Dr. Ashraf Khashkheli, Dentistry Principal LUMHS-Dr. Feroz Kalhoro, Dentistry Dean Isra University Hyderabad -Dr. Abdul Qadir Khero and Deputy Registrar -Dr. Saroop bhatiya in the presence of a large audience of more than 150 young dentists and dental students. Speaking on FCPS, Dr. Salman Iqbal, Assistant professor Surgery Department Isra University Hyderabad, enlightened the attendees about the steps to clear the exam, so that their hardwork is directed in the right direction. He further gave all the needed information to the participants regarding the whole procedure, book selection and tips to pass the exam. Dr. Faizan Syed guided the students and doctors interested in pursuing their career in the USA. He explained the basic requirements to apply for the NBDE USA followed by preparation details. License requirement and the procedure to apply in different universities for the DDS program were discussed in detail. Dr. Saima Butt spoke regarding the MDS program to students who wish to upgrade their knowledge and learn advanced clinical skills in various disciplines of dentistry. For practicing dentistry in the UK, Dr. Shaji Ahmed Memon informed the students regarding the application procedure, registration requirements and discussed in detail on how the ORE exam is conducted, followed by Dr. S Ghazanfar explaining FFD RCSI. They informed about the post-graduation opportunities, exams like MFDS/MFD/MJDF were discussed along with Master programs offered in the UK. Dr. Hamza Masood spoke for the dentists and dental students who seek formal registration with the Dental Board of Australia in order to practice in Australia. The instructors answered the queries of the students throughout the session. The seminar evoked a good response and was appreciated by the participants as well as the esteemed guests. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Ghazanfar delivered a thank you note followed by distribution of shields to the speakers, guests and host by Dr. Feroz Kalhoro and Dr. Abdul Qadir Khero. Pak Dental Community’s Ace the Examination series is based on the thought that students need to be properly guided, at the most appropriate time, on how to prepare for a wide variety of both, Pakistani and Foreign examinations so that they may develop their careers on a more well defined path.-PR
