PMDC Elections

DN Report

Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council issued the list of candidates for election under clause (k) of section 3 of PM&DC (amendment) ordinance XI of 2015.

There seems to be a lukewarm response from the dental community even for the dentist only seats. Only one candidate filed his nomination from Punjab, from Sindh two; Baluchistan two, KPK two, FATA three and ICT two.

The candidates who got elected unopposed include Dr Imran Naseer, Dr Feroze Jahangir, Dr Izhar-ud-Din, Dr Muhammad Israr and Dr Farrukh Ejaz from Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, FATA and ICT respectively. From the faculty side Dr Nasir Khan’s papers have also been accepted.

Papers of Dr Inayat were rejected because of some missing documents. Dr Inayat has, however, decided not to appeal and re-submit the papers, on learning that he would have to contest against the one junior to him. Rather, he decided to give his junior colleague an open field.
