Karachi — The Community Dentistry department of Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) organized a colourful poster competition to highlight different aspects of oral health on Sept 26. Students of BDS (IInd Year) created and exhibited seven posters on different themes, highlighting
different aspects of Oral Health. The poster highlighting "Causes of Oral Diseases" was adjudged as the best, poster on "Smoking" stood second while the poser reflecting "Infection Control in Dentistry" was declared as the third best poster of the competition. The panel of judges included Dr Dost Ali Baloch and Dr Rizwan Nadeem from Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) and Dr Umair Hassan and Dr Mariam Iqbal from Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC). JMDC Dental Section's head, Dr Mohsin Girach, gave away cash prize of Rs 20,000 and certificates to the winners of the competition. Other participants of the competition were also given certificates. The Community Dentistry department's head and demonstrator, Dr Syed Sarosh Mahdi and Dr Kashif Shahzad, respectively, facilitated the students in developing the posters.
