Sindh approves health risk allowance for health personnel

KARACHI: The Sindh Government has allowed a health risk allowance for the health personnel who are performing duties related to COVID-19 patients in health institutions.

According to a recent notification, with the approval of a competent authority (Chief Minister Sindh), the Government of Sindh has allowed a health risk allowance equal to one running basic pay for the health personnel who are performing duties related to coronavirus patients in the health facilities/laboratories. PGs and house officers will be given an initial basic pay of BPS-18/17, respectively, with effect from March 2020, until the subsiding of the coronavirus pandemic.

The eligible personnel will be determined according to the following criteria from the attendance register and notified rota orders. The concerned medical superintendent or head of the department will certify the list.
