Dental Screenings and Oral Health Education Sessions by IM&DC

Islamabad: The Department of Community Dentistry, Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IM&DC),  conducted various Dental Screenings and Oral Health Education Sessions in different private schools including, Angelique Public School, The Educator, Islamabad Grammar School, Iqra School, LGS and Young’s Scholar Public School.


Total number of 865 students were screened and given Oral Health Education (OHE) sessions. OHE is a part of departmental activities which are carried out throughout the academic session.


These OHE sessions were led by Assistant Prof. Dr. Sheze Haroon and Senior Lecturer, Dr. Sadia Sajjad, Department of Community Dentistry IM&DC. The 2nd year BDS undergraduate students performed demonstrations on tooth models and educated the students regarding oral health and its maintenance. The children were encouraged to ask questions regarding oral health, during these OHE sessions.


The school administration and staff appreciated the efforts of IM&DC’s Community Dentistry’s team, as it left a positive and motivational impact on their students regarding maintenance of oral hygiene.
