KARACHI: Baqai Dental College has not failed to disappoint as it has continued its esteemed efforts to execute it’s very first ‘White Coat Ceremony’ to welcome the newly inducted dental students of the 34th Batch in February 2023 in Saeeda Auditorium.
All the students along with their parents/guardians attended this momentous juncture with utmost zeal. The honorable Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Pro-vice Chancellor, Chairmen, Deans, Heads of Departments, and respectable faculty members were all present to be a part of this prodigious event.
The event started with the Vice Principal (Administration) Prof Dr M Farhan Khan and Vice Principal (Academics) Dr M Ain ul Haq of Baqai Dental College gave their welcome address to the attendees of the ceremony.
The Principal Prof Dr Talha M. Siddiqui addressed the audience with his welcoming remarks and commenced the ‘White Coat Ceremony’ where the inducted students were called upon the stage and were given their Doctor’s Coat. The closing remarks were given by the respected Dean of Baqai Dental College Prof Dr Asad Javaid, followed by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kashif Ikram, and Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmed.
All the speakers warmly welcomed the new students and encouraged and motivated them by sharing their words of wisdom. One of the highlighting features of the ceremony was the opportunity given to a few parents and students to express their honest reviews. The ceremony was concluded with the provision of refreshments.
The ceremony was symbolic of a grand gesture to welcome the new students on becoming a part of Baqai Dental College. Moreover, this ceremony was to honor the parents who facilitated their children to join this virtuous profession.
During the ceremony, the auditorium entailed all sorts of emotions including pride, joy, gratitude, and satisfaction, especially among the parents/guardians. Numerous Baqai Dental College mantras were seen and heard during the ‘White Coat Ceremony’. The most frequent ones were ‘Treat the Patient, not the Tooth’, ‘We Paint Personalities’, and ‘I Own Baqai’. The ceremony would have not been made possible without the efforts of the team members from Baqai Dental College faculty and house officers to execute such a splendid event.
