TAXILA: HITEC-IMS Dental College Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Dental Students, recently organized a comprehensive one-day workshop on dental skills and procedures.
The day-long event comprised an engaging mix of interactive lectures, small group discussions, and practical hands-on exercises. The participants had the opportunity to acquire and apply valuable skills, including surgical flaps, biopsy procedures, and a variety of suturing techniques, all performed on biological specimens.
The workshop was led by guest speaker Prof Dr retired Col Wasim Ibrahim, who serves as the Dean of the Foundation University College of Dentistry & Hospital.
Other notable facilitators included Prof Dr Irfan Shah, Principal of Dental College at HITEC IMS, Dr Maimoona Siddiq, Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Fatima Khattak, Senior Registrar in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Adam Khan Danish, Registrar in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and Dr Sadia Moin, also a Registrar in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
The workshop was participated by a total of 32 attendees, representing various institutions such as Foundation University College and Hospital, Islamic International Dental College, Margalla College of Dentistry, Fatima Memorial Dental College, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto School of Dentistry, and Dental College HITEC-IMS. The audience primarily consisted of house officers and Final Year BDS students of the college.
Upon the conclusion of the workshop, the participants were honored with shields and certificates in recognition of their dedication and achievement. Each participant was awarded 04 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours by the National University of Medical Sciences.
