BDUC holds tooth carving contest for BDS students

KARACHI: Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) Oral Biology department held a tooth carving competition among its First Year BDS students, keeping in view the importance of the subject to enhance the students skills, making the learning a fun activity.    

The activity was carried out under the supervision of Oral Biology Head Dr Beenish Fatima Alam, where the students were asked to explore their imagination and carve different structures using the soap bars.

The students were divided in 10 groups and each group was assigned a different project, on which they were also to give a brief presentation to the judges -- Prof Dr Daud Mirza, and Associate Dr Afsheen Masood, of Oral Pathology department. 

As per the judges verdict, the first position was secured by the group which made the model of “Harry Potter theme garden”, the second and third positions were bagged by the groups coming up with “Aquarium” and “Lake side view” models.

Vice Principal, Dental Section, Prof Dr Shama Asghar distributed certificates of appreciation among the winners and the judges.
