LAHORE: The Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, University College of Dentistry, The University of Lahore, recently organised a medical and dental camp at The Trust school, Sabzazar Campus, Lahore.

Nutritionists Dr Zoya Abid and Dr Huria Arooj accompanied the team to advise the parents and teachers regarding nutritional health.

The dental team, which included members from the Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, house surgeons and second year BDS dental students, inspected the overall dental status of the parents and the children. They demonstrated the proper technique used for brushing and carried out a provisional diagnosis for the dental conditions of each student.

Their main objective, aside from diagnosis, was to spread awareness regarding oral hygiene and teach parents and children what methods are used for cleaning, the type of toothbrush bristles, which toothpaste to use, and prescribed medications to the parents that had dental pain.

The students actively participated and asked various questions regarding oral health. Goody bags in collaboration with Colgate Palmolive were also distributed among the event's participants.

The school administration helped the teams with everything that was required. The team thanked the head of the school campus Madeeha Anees, for the opportunity and honour to represent the hospital and college at their institute.
