Role-playing competition among third year dental students

KARACHI: Department of Operative Dentistry at Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUMDC), recently organised a role-play competition among third-year students under the supervision of Dr Shama Asghar and Dr Umeed Javaid. Dr Imtiaz ul haq was the facilitator of the event.

The competition motivated the students to work harder. Role-playing is an effective and engaging method of learning. It helps the students to work on various aspects like empathy and perspective-taking.

Different clinical scenarios on topics like 'NCCL', 'Crack Tooth', 'Overhang and Sterilization' were given to the groups to act upon them.

Dr Meisha Gul Assistant Professor Operative Department was the judge on the occasion to evaluate the students in different areas and provide feedback for further improvement.
At the end of the competition, certificates were given to the winners, and to the group who practiced role play on sterilization. Participants were encouraged and appreciated for their efforts.
