ISLAMABAD: Dr. Sheze Haroon Qazi, leading the Community Dentistry Department at Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC), recently organized a dental community outreach program at Mashal Model School Bari Imaam, that offers free education to street children, particularly the internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Joined by Dr. Saba Masoud, Dr. Hajra Shahid, and 2nd-year dental students, the IDC team screened nearly 600 children for oral health issues.

They conducted educational sessions on proper brushing techniques, healthy eating habits, and stressed the importance of regular dental check-ups. Moreover, house officers from IDH provided dental restorations using innovative techniques like Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and Atraumatic Restorative Technique, benefiting approximately 75 children.

For those needing further treatment, referrals were made to IDH. To promote oral hygiene, Colgate distributed complimentary oral hygiene gift packs among the school children.

Miss Zeba, the school director, expressed gratitude to the dentists for their impactful outreach efforts and commended IMDC's administration for taking such initiatives. This event underscores the importance of community collaboration and proactive healthcare initiatives.
